SUMMARY
Mushkegowuk Development Corporation (MDC) is seeking a motivated Logistics & Procurement Support Intern to join MDC Supply LP, a growing First Nation-owned business providing supply, procurement and logistics services to businesses and communities across Northern Ontario. Reporting to the Capital Projects Manager, the Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in procurement, logistics and supply chain coordination while supporting customer and project orders from quotation through delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to develop their skills in procurement and logistics, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support procurement and logistics coordination for customer and project orders from quotation through delivery.
- Assist with quotations, supplier pricing, procurement documentation and order processing.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight providers and warehouse staff to support timely order fulfillment and delivery.
- Track orders, delivery schedules and related documentation using internal tracking tools and spreadsheets.
- Support bulk purchasing, freight consolidation and seasonal supply initiatives, including winter road activities.
- Communicate with customers regarding quotations, order status, delivery timelines and required documentation.
- Assist management with procurement and logistics requirements for projects and other business initiatives.
- Support sales and marketing activities, customer inquiries and identification of new supply opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Professional communication skills and attention to detail.
- Not required, but education, coursework, or relevant work experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Speaking Cree is an asset
- Familiarity with transportation and travel logistics in the Mushkegowuk region is an asset
