SUMMARY
Mushkegowuk Development Corporation (MDC) is seeking a motivated Finance & Operations Support Intern to join MDC Supply LP, a growing First Nation-owned business providing supply, procurement and logistics services to businesses and communities across Northern Ontario. Reporting to the Financial Administration Officer, the Intern will gain practical, hands-on experience in financial administration and business operations while assisting with financial records, inventory documentation, reporting and day-to-day operational processes. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to develop their skills in finance and business administration, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support accounts receivable and payable activities, including invoice processing, tracking, reconciliations and
- supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial record keeping, HST tracking and preparation of documentation for reporting and claims.
- Support inventory administration and maintain organized purchase order, delivery, supplier and customer records.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial and operational reports for management.
- Provide administrative support to management for projects, business initiatives and day-to-day operations, including document preparation, coordination and follow-up.
- Support project administration by maintaining files, tracking activities and deliverables, compiling information and assisting with project and funding reports.
- Coordinate with logistics and procurement staff to support accurate billing, documentation and order completion.
- Assist with maintaining and improving internal administrative, financial and operational procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Not required, but education, coursework, or relevant work experience in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Office Administration, or a related field is an asset
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Professional communication skills and attention to detail.
- Speaking Cree is an asset.
