Summer Student Opportunity – Social Events Coordinator

About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Summer Student – Membership & Outreach Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our membership engagement and outreach initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community relations, digital marketing, and event coordination while contributing to projects that directly impact the local economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach efforts including phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to members and potential members.
• Support the development of strategies to welcome and onboard new members.
• Help plan and execute member appreciation events and other Chamber-hosted networking and informational sessions.
• Maintain and update membership records and databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Create content for newsletters, social media, and member communications.
• Help develop marketing materials for membership drives and engagement campaigns.
• Assist in collecting member feedback to inform future programming and event improvements.
• Support initiatives that boost member involvement and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Essential Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Interest in business development, community engagement, or marketing.
