The Court News/Temiskaming Speaker is hiring a Reporter/Photographer, for a full-time, continuing position in New Liskeard. The position opens in June 2025 and will remain open until suitable candidate found.

The focus of this position would be reporting on the local courts for the biweekly Court News publication. You would also be expected to contribute stories each week to the Temiskaming Speaker and the Weekender.

The job is Monday to Friday, with some evenings, and covering events every other weekend. The successful candidate will produce 10 to 15 items per week (these will be a mix of articles, stand-alone photos, or photo spreads).

Qualifications:

• a related diploma or degree, such as journalism, creative writing, or photography
• writing or photography experience
• experience living in a rural or northern community

Requirements:

• valid driver's license
• reliable vehicle
• a high-resolution camera is an asset
• good communication skills
• the ability to meet deadlines
• live in the Temiskaming Shores area or be willing to move to the community
