This is an in-person position.
Reports To: Manager of Business Services
About the Role
The Timmins Chamber is looking for a Program Coordinator to help connect students, schools and businesses while supporting initiatives that strengthen our future workforce, under the Workplace Experience Learning Collaborative (WELC) initiative.
This is a great
opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience in
business, education, communications, workforce development and community
engagement. You don't need to know everything on day one—we're looking for
someone who is organized, curious, personable, and eager to learn.
What You'll Do
Communication & Engagement
- Build relationships with leaders at businesses, high schools, and post-secondary institutions.
- Help promote and coordinate student experiential learning, and placement opportunities.
- Connect employers with workforce, training, and employment resources.
- Support program communications, including email, website, and social media content creation.
Event & Program Logistics
- Help organize and deliver Chamber workshops, information sessions, and workforce events.
- Coordinate with speakers, businesses, schools, and community partners.
- Support event logistics, communications, and follow-up.
- Gather feedback to improve future programming.
- Support the Chamber's Workforce Task Force and related activities.
Research, Administration & Reporting
- Research workforce topics and gather feedback from businesses, students, and community partners.
- Identify workforce challenges, talent shortages, and emerging needs.
- Track project activities, deadlines, and key outcomes.
- Track participation, opportunities and feedback, and maintain CRM records.
- Prepare updates and reports for project partners.

- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Are comfortable with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Are curious, resourceful, and willing to learn.
- Can work independently while knowing when to ask for support.
- Have an interest in business, education, workforce, or community development.

You don't need
experience in every area listed above. Co-op placements, internships, volunteer experience, part-time work,
and community involvement are all valuable and will be considered.
Required
- Availability to work in office Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Flexibility to travel throughout the northeast (some evenings and weekends may be required).
- Access to a reliable vehicle (we reimburse mileage).
Assets (Not Required)
- French and English bilingualism.
- Experience with schools, students, employers, or community organizations.
- Experience with event planning, communications, or social media.
- Familiarity with workforce development, employment services, or experiential learning.

Contract Details
- Duration: 1 year (with potential for extension based on funding and performance).
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
- Compensation: Annual salary of $55,000. (35 hours per week).
