Construction Supervisor

G.R. Roy Construction is looking for an experienced and motivated Construction Supervisor to join our growing team.
The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction operations, coordinating crews and equipment, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities and site operations.
- Lead and manage construction crews, equipment operators, labourers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and deliveries to support project requirements.
- Plan daily work activities and assign tasks to crew members.
- Monitor project progress and ensure schedules and deadlines are maintained.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project documents.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Ensure all employees follow company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Identify hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
- Monitor labour, equipment, and material usage.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, timesheets, and site documentation.
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers and management regarding project progress, challenges, and requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project personnel.
- Troubleshoot site issues and implement practical solutions to keep projects moving.
- Promote a positive, professional, and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Construction Supervisor, Foreman, or in a similar leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of construction operations and practices.
- Experience supervising crews and coordinating heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Construction-related certifications are considered an asset.
- Experience in road construction, grading, civil construction, heavy construction, or mining-related projects is considered an asset.
