Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete one-on-one information sessions with applicants
Negotiate Participation Agreement with OW participants
Negotiate and monitor PA activities of assigned ODSP participants
Liaison with ODSP staff regarding benefits and/or non-compliance of ODSP participants
Monitor client employment activities within PA (such as community placements, employment supports, employment placements, enhanced employment)
Monitor and administer supports for employment activities such as community placements, employment placements, training (e.g. ESUB, ERE, etc)
Monitor and administer the consequences of non-compliance according to the situation
Coordinate information related to labour market conditions, educational opportunities and job specific skill training in the community to assist both workers and participants
Promotion/Marketing of employment activities such as community placements, employment placements, enhanced employment to the community
Assist in facilitating a variety of employment related workshops such as job search workshops, resume writing, life skills, etc. as required
Assist in the development of community and employment placements
Provide on-site support and referrals to Employment Resource Centre visitors
Maintain a community resource data base to facilitate delivery of services, specifically employment supports and referral program
Assist clients with available services such as fax, photocopiers, PCs and resume preparation
Provide informal employment counseling for individuals with diversified needs
Identify participant needs and goals and recommend appropriate services
Develop and implement programs to achieve targets set by Program Manager
Other related duties & provide back-up coverage to staff as assigned
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Social Sciences or related field or a two-year College Diploma in Social Sciences with related experience or a combination of education/experience acceptable to the employer.
Two years experience in social services, preferably in the delivery of income maintenance and employment programs.
Good working knowledge of the full range of programs delivered by the CDSSAB including; Ontario Works, Child Care and Social Housing.
Proficiency in word processing programs and Social Assistance or Employment Ontario software
Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Bilingualism in accordance with the French Language Services policy.
