Community Living Temiskaming South is a not for profit agency that provides a variety of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Residential Services are designed to provide up to 24 hours service in a home setting and to delivery of quality service which is person centered. The Residential Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the home. Direct responsibilities include (but not limited to): providing leadership, training, developing, scheduling and supervising staff, ensuring the home operates in conjunction with provincial licensing, follows the agency and health & safety policies and procedures, and ensuring the individual(s) needs are being met. The Residential Supervisor will encourage team work and maintain regular and positive effective communication with management, employees, individuals and with other functional areas of the organization and with other agencies.
Post-Secondary education Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or a diploma in Developmental Services or Social Services with related experience
Minimum 3 years in a Supervisor role preferably in unionized environment

Experience with mental health/dual diagnosis
Knowledge of Service and Supports to promote the social inclusion of persons with a developmental disability Act, 2008, S.O. 208,C.14
Excellent communications, interpersonal and presentation skills
Commitment to a professional work ethic, working cooperatively and collaboratively with internal and external partners
Self-directed with superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage overlapping priorities and multiple areas of responsibility
An ability to deal with all levels of the organization and to treat all with dignity and respect
Ability to effectively present information in a clear manner, demonstrate procedures and respond to questions
Effectively navigate through potentially high-risk situations through verbal de-escalation techniques, and the ability to stay calm in potentially high stress situations
