PART-TIME POOL MAINTENANCE LABOURER (Maintenance Department) (Competition No.: CDS-2020-04)
Part-Time • Timmins Region
Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor, perform janitorial and water treatment duties at but not limited to the Archie Dillon Sportsplex Pool.
? Clean office area, hallways, entrance, observation area, public washrooms and change rooms daily
? Perform chemical analysis of water on a daily basis making adjustments when needed
? Pressure wash the pool deck and vacuum the pool as required
? Add the appropriate chemicals to pool in the case of emergencies
? Assist with filter room procedures (back washing and changing filters)
? Ensure all entrances and exits are clear (seasonal)
? Empty waste and disposable receptacles
? Open and perform building safety and equipment checks as required
? Grade 12 diploma or equivalency
? Knowledge of Class A pool regulatory compliance and operational best practices
? Knowledge of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care – Regulation 565
? Knowledge of water disinfection and water balance
? Knowledge in areas of water safety as well as chemical handling and storage
? Janitorial related experience (an asset)
? Familiar with the basics of plumbing systems
? Current WHMIS certificate (an asset)
? Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
CLASSIFICATION: Pool Maintenance Labourer
RATE OF PAY: $26.09 per hour (2019)
Rate of Pay and Shift Work in accordance with CUPE Local 210 Agreement
