This position is located at our Penhorwood Site which is located approximately 70km west of Timmins towards Foleyet and requires daily travel for scheduled shifts.
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Works under supervision in accordance to established Federal and Provincial regulations, and Company prescribed work procedures and safety policies; installs, inspects, adjusts, maintains, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment.
Preferred candidate for this position is a motivated individual willing to learn and build on their technical abilities, and preferably has shown or demonstrated prior interest in the field of maintenance within our operations.
The successful candidate will complete all levels of the Millwright Apprenticeship in a timely manner as per the Magris Talc Apprenticeship Agreement.
JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will train, learn, and demonstrate competencies in the following areas of responsibility as a Millwright:
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions, adjusting machinery, and repairing or replacing defective parts
Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machineries
Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations
Sharpening and maintaining machine tools
Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances
Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
Performing other related duties as required
OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS:
Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
Experience using PLC’s is an asset
Experience of MiG and Stick welding is an asset
Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Ability to work in a team environment
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
