Job Title: Labourer

Reporting To: Supervisor/Lead hand
Pay Grid: $18.20 - $25.00

Overview
As part of the Labourer role, you are responsible for performing general tasks while maintaining a clean and safe job site. You should be physically fit, reliable, and be a hard worker. You are responsible to assist as required in all manual labour aspects of the project as directed by the Supervisor or Lead hand while following all health and safety procedures.

Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prep sites by cleaning work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site
• Load or unload materials and parts
• Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Supervisor or Lead hand
• Help skilled Welders and/or Mechanics when necessary
• Choose appropriate tools for the task
• Operate angle grinders and other tools
• Perform tasks requiring repeated heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, hauling, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping and squatting
• Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
• Follow instructions from supervisors
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Identifying hazards or potential hazards
• Other job duties as required

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
• Experience in a garage setting is an asset
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
• Ability to work effectively in all weather environments
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• Reliable, punctual, self-motivated and meet all attendance requirements
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in teams
