Youth Internship - Economic Development

The Municipality of Moonbeam is seeking a motivated individual for a 24-months Internship opportunity, as part of FedNor's Youth Internship program to encourage young adults to establish themselves in the North. 

Reports to: Community Services and Economic Development Director

Duration: 24-months contract (35h/week)
Location: Municipality of Moonbeam (possibility of hybrid work - in person and work-from-home)

Department: Economic Development

Type: $19.23/h

Main Duties:

• assist with the development, organization and oversight of events for the Municipality and other community groups;

• work assists on the development of current and future projects;

• work on improving the community trails;

• assist with developments regarding the local organizations and businesses

• assist in developing, updating and broadcasting marketing/promotional material for the Municipality, events and community organizations;

• link inquiries and opportunities to local businesses;

• assist in creating a tourism development plan; and

• seek funding for project development.

Requirements

• be unemployed or underemployed youth and under the age of 30;

• have graduated within the last three (3) years with a degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;

• not be related to members of the directors, officers or managers of the Recipient;

• be legally entitled to work in Canada; and

• not have previously participated as a youth intern in any of FedNor's Programs or in any other federal or provincial internship program with pay for a period of six (6) months or more.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English

• Strong interpersonal skills and good work habits

Possibility of employment, within the Corporation of the Township of Moonbeam, at the end of the internship.
