COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/ OFFICE ADMINISITRATOR

The Venture Centre is seeking a dynamic bilingual individual responsible for some administrative duties related to the effective day-to-day delivery of the office as well as assists in the planning, implementation, and tracking of short- and long-term Community Economic Development projects.
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. Office Administration and Support:
· Answer main phone, take messages, and direct calls to appropriate staff
· Receive mail and packages.
· Greeting clients
· Prepare meeting agendas and minutes
2. Community and Public Relations:
· Ensure that the organization’s mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
· Assist in raising the visibility of the organization; develop and implement sustainable branding and marketing campaigns.
· Participate in and attend community events as requested by The Executive Director.
· Participate on community-based committees as required.
3. CED Project
· Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities
· Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including Executive Director on the progress of the project
· Write and submit final reports on the project for management and for funders
SKILLS
· College diploma in office or business administration, or community development or related field
· Legally entitled to work in Canada
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
· Proficient in Microsoft office software
· Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information
· Ability to negotiate and to collaborate
· Excellent analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of project management
· Excellent understanding of community Economic Development
