JOB SUMMARY

Apitipi Child & Family Services enhances positive support for children and families through opportunities for empowerment, promotion of growth, healing and well-being for our children and families. Reporting to the Director of Apitipi Child and Family Services, the Child & Family Therapist will be responsible for providing culturally appropriate and holistic care through person-centered assessments, treatment, and therapy to children, youth, families, and groups on both a brief and long-term basis. The Child & Family Therapist will facilitate programming and services to address the identified needs of our children, families, and community.

Qualifications:  

• This position requires a master’s degree or equivalent in a mental health discipline (if from outside Ontario, must demonstrate that all registration requirements can be met at time of hiring)
• Registration or be willing to register with the relevant accrediting professional body.
• Minimum 3 years related experience in children’s mental health treatment, including working with children 0 – 18 years of age.
• Possess above-average skills in family/child engagement, assessment, formulation, and treatment.

• Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture and traditional philosophies.
• Good communication, organization, problem solving and team skills.
• Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and provide a clear drivers abstract.
• Must have access to reliable vehicle.
• Must be available to work outside normal business working hours and weekends when required.
