Addictions Medicine Consult Team Clinician
Full-Time • Timmins Region
Provide best practice assessment, treatment, navigation and support to
individuals and families with substance use and/or concurrent disorders across
the spectrum (inpatient to community). Work with health care team to develop
capacity in relation to addictions treatment.
Work within the addictions services umbrella to provide support to other
addictions programs as required.
Must be a Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with respective regulating body.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an addictions setting and a minimum of 2 years’ working in an acute medical setting.
Experience in providing individual and group setting treatment and program development would be considered assets.
Demonstrated skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Certificate in suboxone training would be considered an asset
Certificate in Harm Reduction would be considered an asset
Knowledge of addictions related care (i.e. withdrawal symptoms, withdrawal management and medication treatment available)
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence based practices of recovery principles
Demonstrated knowledge of how to apply harm reduction approach to recovery
Understanding and knowledge of the recovery oriented approach.
Demonstrated experience dealing with clients who have poor distress tolerance and emotion regulation challenges.
Bilingualism is a requirement (French and English) as per TADH designation requirement.
